Código de Error is a technical reference site about error codes and faults in household appliances: washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, boilers, hobs, ovens, fridges, air conditioners and small appliances. It is written for someone whose appliance has just stopped, with a code on the display and a very specific question: what it means, whether it can be solved safely, and when it is time to call a technician.

What you will find here

Information is organised by appliance and by brand: Balay, Bosch, Siemens, AEG, Electrolux, Zanussi, Fagor, Whirlpool, Miele, LG, Samsung, Beko, Ferroli, Cointra, Vaillant, Junkers, De Dietrich and many more. Each page explains one specific code from one specific manufacturer, because the same code can mean different things for different brands or product ranges. An E18 on a washing machine is not an E19, and an F0 on one brand’s induction hob does not have to match another’s.

Alongside the error code pages we publish an appliance error code finder and a magazine with guides on using, maintaining and buying appliances, aimed at making them last longer and avoiding preventable faults.

How we create our content

To prepare each article we consult publicly available technical documentation, such as user manuals and manufacturer information, and other specialised sources. When sources disagree about what a code means, we say so instead of picking an answer at random. Content is reviewed and updated when the available information changes, and any reader can tell us about a mistake.

We follow a safety rule we do not compromise on: we only describe safe checks that any user can carry out, such as cleaning filters, checking drains, seals and water inlets, resetting the appliance or checking that it is level. We never explain how to work on the electrical installation, the gas circuit, the refrigerant or live internal components, and we make clear at which point an authorised technician should take over.

What we are not

Código de Error is not a repair service. We do not repair appliances, sell spare parts, send technicians or handle warranties. The information is provided for general guidance and does not replace a professional diagnosis or the manufacturer’s instructions for your model.

The site may mention brands, models, shops or products for informational or comparative purposes. This does not imply sponsorship or a commercial relationship unless stated. Affiliate links are explained in our affiliate disclosure.
