What the C6 lockout really indicates
The C6 code does not describe a generic fault. On Junkers models, the message is usually related to an anomaly in the combustion air check or in the exhaust of gases. Before authorizing ignition, the boiler checks that the ventilation flow is adequate; if it does not receive the expected signal, it stops the process.
That control is important because a gas boiler cannot work normally if it does not expel the fumes properly or draw in the air it needs. In sealed-chamber models, safety depends precisely on that prior check. When it fails, the unit protects itself and goes out of service, even if gas is arriving normally and the other components seem fine.
It is also worth keeping in mind that not all Junkers models interpret C6 in the same way. On some units the reference points more to the differential pressure switch; on others, the focus is on the fan or flue extractor. The logic, however, is the same: the boiler does not confirm safe ventilation and stops the start-up.

A communication fault, a bad contact, or an unstable supply can make the turbine work poorly or make the boiler believe, in error, that it is not working. What a user can do and what should not be touched
The scope for home intervention is limited and should be cautious. You can inspect the external outlet, listen to the start-up attempt, check whether there are objects blocking the exhaust opening, and verify that the boiler is receiving stable electrical power. It is also reasonable to reset the unit once, without repeatedly insisting.
What is not advisable is to dismantle the fan, manipulate the pressure switch, or open internal flue circuit components without training. In a gas boiler, these components are not decorative parts or something to be accessed for improvised repairs. A mounting error or an undetected leak can turn a common fault into a real risk.
If, after the basic checks, the fault continues, the diagnosis is already in technical territory. Replacing the extractor, checking the pressure sensor, or analyzing the board requires measuring tools, compatible spare parts, and knowledge of the exact model. At that point, caution matters more than intuition.

The best defense against this lockout is orderly maintenance. Not because it eliminates all faults — no boiler is immune to wear — but because it reduces accumulated dirt and allows signs of fatigue in the fan, tubes, or pressure switch to be detected earlier.
Regular inspection of the flue gas exhaust, cleaning of the chamber, and checking of the electrical elements helps the boiler work with less effort. When the appliance can breathe properly, it starts better. It is a simple image, but an accurate one: a boiler with a clean air circuit works with less strain and responds more steadily.
It is also worth monitoring the exterior environment of the duct, especially after storms or periods of intense cold.
