Balay 3EB715LR: ceramic hob errors and solutions

The Balay 3EB715LR is a three-zone electric ceramic hob, not an induction hob. What a fault means on the Balay 3EB715LR

This model uses touch controls at the upper front and offers 17 power levels, a timer and a residual heat indicator. The illuminated letter h does not necessarily mean a fault: it warns that the surface is still hot after switching off. While it remains lit, do not clean or touch the zone.

A panel that beeps or will not select a zone may be locked. The child safety lock prevents accidental activation and can be set permanently or temporarily. With the hob switched off, press and hold the lock symbol for a few seconds until the related indicator disappears. The exact sequence may vary according to the stored setting, so the appliance manual should take priority.

The touch panel does not respond or gives warnings

Capacitive controls become less sensitive when covered by water, grease, salt or a cloth. Switch off the hob, wait until the residual heat indication disappears and clean the glass with a soft, well-wrung cloth. Then dry it completely.
