Balay 3TS60106A washer error: causes and solutions
Common causes behind this Balay washer fault and safe checks to make before calling a technician.

The Balay 3TS60106A washing machine does not use a digital display for alphanumeric codes, so a fault usually appears through flashing lights, a stopped cycle or a locked door. Before removing any part, establish whether the problem involves water intake, drainage, the door lock or an unbalanced load.

What the Balay 3TS60106A signals mean
This front-loading model has a capacity of 6 kilograms, a maximum spin speed of 1,000 rpm and an A+ energy rating under the former classification. Its panel does not show a code like newer washing machines: the wash, rinse, spin and end indicators help identify the stage where the program stopped.
A stop immediately after pressing start is often linked to a door that is not properly closed, a closed tap or a power supply problem. If the drum remains full, attention should turn to the pump filter, drain hose or a blockage in the household plumbing. The foam-control and load-balancing systems can also extend a cycle without indicating a serious fault.
Checks to make before calling a technician
The first inspection should be carried out with the appliance switched off and unplugged. Check that the tap supplies water, that the inlet hose is not bent and that the detergent drawer contains no hardened residue. Low water pressure can prevent the washer from starting even when the selector and lights appear to work normally.
When water remains in the drum, place towels and a container beneath the filter cover before opening it slowly. Remove lint, coins or small objects, and check that the drain hose is not crushed. Do not force the door while water remains inside or the drum is spinning; the safety lock may take several minutes to release after a program is cancelled.
An overloaded drum or one heavy item can cause vibration and stop the spin cycle. Redistributing the laundry, reducing the load and selecting a moderate speed often solves the issue. The model reaches approximately 74 decibels during spinning and 58 decibels during washing, useful figures for distinguishing normal noise from a metallic knock or unusual hum.
When the cycle takes too long or will not finish
The cotton program can approach two hours, while the maximum recorded cycle time is 135 minutes. The duration increases if the machine heats slowly, detects excessive foam, tries to correct an unbalanced load or cannot drain completely. A timer that stays unchanged for a while therefore does not automatically indicate an error code.
If the program greatly exceeds that limit, check the filter, water supply and electrical connection. It is also important to ensure that the drain hose is not pushed too deeply into the pipe, as this can cause backflow or incorrect emptying. The washer uses around 47 liters of water per cycle and 1.02 kWh of electricity, reference values that do not replace a professional measurement.
A reset may clear a temporary interruption: turn the selector to off, wait several minutes and reconnect the appliance. If the lights continue flashing, there is a burning smell, the circuit breaker trips or the motor only hums, stop using it. In these cases, electrical safety and inspection of the pump, lock or control board require a qualified professional.
A simple washer with signals that deserve attention
The Balay 3TS60106A was designed with basic controls, a stainless-steel drum and no integrated display. This simplicity makes daily use straightforward, but it means the appliance’s behavior must be read like a trail: the exact stopping point, water level and active light are often more revealing than a number.
Checks of the inlet, drain, door and load resolve many minor incidents. When the fault returns after those inspections, continued use can worsen a leak or damage the motor. Identifying the cycle stage and describing it accurately to the technician usually shortens diagnosis and helps avoid unnecessary part replacements.
