What to do when a Globber scooter steering fails
Check the lock, dirt and steering adjustment before taking the scooter to a repair service.

When a Globber scooter does not turn, the most common causes are an engaged steering lock, dirt around the turning area or an overtightened part. On three-wheel children’s models, the system relies on handlebar tilting; on two-wheel and electric models, the steering should move smoothly through the front fork. Do not force the handlebar: excessive pressure can damage the internal mechanism or misalign the front wheel.

Steering lock is the first thing to check
Some Globber scooters include a button or selector that keeps the steering fixed while children learn. This feature provides stability, but it prevents turning when it remains engaged. Place the scooter on a flat surface, hold the deck steady with one foot and check that the lock control is set to free riding. The handlebar should tilt without jumps or dry resistance.
On evolving models such as the GO·UP family, the push bar, seat and scooter mode can change the steering feel. Incorrect installation of the push bar or an incomplete connection can keep the steering rigid. Each part should click fully into place, and the tube should not have side-to-side play. If the assembly is incomplete, the scooter should not be used until it is corrected.
Dirt, bearings and misaligned parts
Sand, dust and small leaves collect around the fork and bearings, especially after riding through parks or on wet sidewalks. This dirt creates a thin layer of friction: the handlebar feels locked and the front wheel responds late. Clean the area with a dry cloth and a soft brush, without using high-pressure water or applying greasy products to the deck. Dry maintenance lowers the risk of dust sticking to the mechanism.
The front wheel may also have hit a curb. Viewed from the front, it should be centered with the deck and follow the same axis as the handlebar. If it points slightly to one side, the fork may be bent or its screws may have lost adjustment. In that situation, tightening parts at random is not enough: excessive force can compress the bearings and make turning worse.
Wear shows through specific signs. A metallic squeak, hard points during rotation, handlebar vibrations or a wheel that does not return to center may indicate bearing or alignment problems. Wheels should not have cracks or deformities, and the scooter should not be ridden if the steering tube moves from side to side.
What can be done at home and when to stop checking
Home inspection should be limited to cleaning, checking the lock, verifying assembly and examining visible wheels and screws. Before touching any fastener, photograph its original position and use the correct tool to avoid damaging the head. On a children’s scooter, an adult should perform the inspection and test it without a rider by lifting the front wheel and turning it slowly. The steering must respond evenly in both directions.
If the handlebar remains stiff, the fork is tilted or play appears, stop using the scooter and contact after-sales service or a bicycle and scooter technician. On electric models, poor steering is usually mechanical, but the battery area, controller or wiring should not be dismantled to fix a steering issue. Defective steering is not a minor inconvenience: it affects control, braking and the ability to avoid obstacles. After any adjustment, test the scooter in a clear area at very low speed and wear a helmet.
