What the F8 warning indicates on a Balay hob

The exact interpretation may vary depending on the product range, manufacturing year and appliance reference. On certain Balay hobs, F8 is linked to the **safety waiting period**: the zone has operated for too long without changes or under a high thermal load, so the control switches the cooking area off to prevent damage.

The message may also coincide with **overheated electronics**. Induction heats the cookware through a magnetic field, but its power modules still require ventilation.
