Panel de un lavavajillas Balay mostrando H:03 durante la programación diferida

The H:03 message shown on the control panel of the Balay 3VS571BP usually does not indicate a fault. On this model, the letter H generally identifies the delay-start function, while the number 03 means that the programme has been set to begin in three hours.

If you have a problem with your dishwasher, you can use our free error code finder. From there you can identify and solve all errors easily and effectively.

What H:03 means on the Balay 3VS571BP

The display may show H:03 after pressing the delay-start function or selecting an option linked to automatic starting. The dishwasher may appear to be inactive, but it is not locked: it is waiting for the configured time before starting the water intake and washing cycle.

This indication differs from common error codes such as E15, E24 or E25, which can point to an issue with water intake, a leak or drainage. H:03 instead describes an active programme setting. The dishes may remain inside without the pump or spray arms running until the selected delay has elapsed.

How to cancel delay start and begin the cycle

To remove H:03, switch on the dishwasher and press the delay-start button repeatedly until the display shows 0:00 or the hour indication disappears. Then select the programme you want and confirm it with the Start button. The exact button names may vary slightly depending on the control-panel version, so the manual for the appliance E-Nr takes priority.

If a cycle has already been selected and the panel does not respond, hold the Start button for about three seconds. On many Balay dishwashers this cancels the programme and triggers a short drain cycle. Once it finishes, switch the appliance off, wait a few seconds and select the programme again. There is no need to dismantle the appliance or remove the filters to cancel a delayed start.

When H:03 is no longer just a delay setting

The situation requires a different check if H:03 returns without the delay button being pressed, if the appliance accepts no commands or if it remains still after the function is cancelled. Before suspecting an electronic fault, check that the door closes fully and that the dishwasher receives power. A defective power strip, loose plug or poorly closed door can prevent the cycle from starting.

It is also worth checking whether there is water in the base, whether the tap symbol stays lit or whether a code beginning with E appears. If a leak is suspected, close the water tap and unplug the appliance. E15, E23, E24 and E25 require different checks and should not be confused with H:03 programming. If the message remains after resetting, diagnosis should be carried out by a qualified technician, particularly if the dishwasher is still under warranty.

A display that informs rather than alarms

The Balay 3VS571BP display works like a small control panel: some letters indicate operating states and others signal faults. Telling the difference prevents unnecessary cleaning, part replacements and repeated resets. Under normal conditions, H:03 belongs to the first group and indicates a three-hour programmed delay.

The key is to check what happens after cancelling the function. If the programme starts normally, the dishwasher is working correctly and the message was only showing a pending command. If it does not start, new codes appear or unusual noises can be heard, the most useful information for diagnosis will be the exact message on the display and the appliance product number.
