Balay 3VS571BP dishwasher: what does error H03 mean?
The H03 notice is usually a delayed start, not a fault. Here is how to remove it and restart the wash.

The H03 notice shown by the Balay 3VS571BP dishwasher normally does not indicate a fault. On this model, the letter H followed by a number usually means that the delayed-start function is active: H03 means the program will begin in approximately three hours. The appliance may therefore appear locked, when it is actually waiting for the programmed time.

What H03 means on the Balay 3VS571BP
The Balay 3VS571BP is a freestanding 60-centimeter dishwasher with capacity for 13 place settings, five programs and a display showing both the remaining time and certain active functions. The H03 indication belongs to the delayed-start setting, not to the fault codes that usually begin with E.
This function is useful when the appliance needs to start later, such as overnight or during a specific time period. However, if the related button is touched accidentally, the display can cause confusion: the cycle does not begin immediately and the selected time appears to remain frozen.
The number shown represents the selected waiting time. Therefore, H03 equals a three-hour delay. It does not mean that the dishwasher is heating incorrectly, that the drain is blocked or that the circulation pump has failed.
How to remove the delay and start the dishwasher
To cancel H03, switch on the appliance and locate the delayed-start key on the panel, usually identified by a clock or an hour symbol. Press it several times until the H disappears and a program without a delay is selected. Then press the start button and close the door firmly.
On some panel versions, holding the start button for around three seconds cancels the active program and allows it to be set again. The exact response can vary according to the appliance revision, but the aim is the same: remove the pending delay and start a new cycle.
If the display continues to show the notice, switch off the dishwasher, wait a few minutes and reconnect it. There is no need to dismantle the door or remove internal components to clear a delayed start. It is also worth checking that the door closes correctly and that the inlet tap is open before starting the wash.
When there may actually be a fault
The situation is different if the appliance displays an E code, makes repeated beeping sounds, accepts no commands or leaves water in the tub. E09, for example, is commonly associated with heating problems in appliances from the BSH group, while other codes may point to filling, draining or electronics. H03 alone is not enough to diagnose a fault.
There may also be a different issue if the program takes much longer than expected. The 3VS571BP Eco cycle can last around 210 minutes, because it reduces water and electricity use by extending the washing phases. The displayed duration does not always mean that the appliance is stuck.
This model uses approximately 9.5 liters of water and 0.92 kWh per cycle, reaches up to 70 C and operates at about 48 dB. If, after canceling the delay, it still does not fill, drain or heat, or displays an E code again, it is sensible to disconnect the power and request a technical inspection. Handling the heater, pump or electronic module without the necessary knowledge can cause damage and electrical risks.
An indication that looks like a fault but is usually a setting
On the Balay 3VS571BP, distinguishing between an active function and a fault code prevents unnecessary repairs. H03 usually disappears after canceling delayed start and selecting the program again, while genuine faults require checking the complete code and the symptoms that accompany it.
The display works like a small traffic panel in these situations: it does not always announce an accident; sometimes it simply indicates that the journey will begin later. If the notice disappears and the wash starts normally, the dishwasher is behaving consistently with an accidental setting, not a repair condition.
