Balay washing machine lights and errors: meanings and fixes

The lights on a Balay washing machine panel do not turn on at random: they can indicate a locked door, a water supply issue, a drainage problem or an electronic fault. What Balay lights and codes mean

A flashing light beside the start button often means that the door is not properly closed or that the program is paused. On some models, E16 appears, while other generations show E3 or E03 to warn of a door-lock problem. Remove any trapped clothing, check that the seal is not misshapen and press the door until it clicks into place. Do not force the handle or try to open it while water remains inside.

The E17, F17 and E29 warnings are linked to the water supply. The tap must be fully open and the inlet hose must not be bent behind the appliance.
