Dreame FizzFresh: reviews, price and refrigerator features
Capacity, sparkling water, ice and price: everything known about Dreame’s new smart refrigerator.

The Dreame FizzFresh is the brand’s first refrigerator aimed at gaining a foothold in Spanish kitchens, and it arrives with an unusual proposition: it combines large capacity, connectivity and a dispenser capable of preparing cold sparkling water. There are not yet enough independent tests to offer a definitive verdict, but its specifications already make it possible to assess what it offers, which questions remain open and which households could find it worthwhile.

What is really known about the Dreame FizzFresh
The European presentation of the FizzFresh places Dreame in a very different market from the robot vacuums that made it known. The appliance belongs to the large-format refrigerator category and has been announced in two configurations: a side-by-side version and another with a French-door layout. In both cases, the announced total volume reaches 524 liters, a figure aimed at families who make large grocery shops or need to store food for several days.
The available information comes mainly from the manufacturer’s presentation, so it is important to separate confirmed functions from claims that still need to be verified in long-term testing. Cooling, ice production and temperature adjustment are concrete features; the real impact on food preservation, noise, energy use and maintenance can only be measured once commercial units have been installed in homes.
Dreame expects sales in Spain to begin during the second half of 2026. The announced price starts at 1,699 euros for the 524-liter side-by-side model and rises to 1,799 euros for the French-door version. The 100-euro difference does not appear large within this category, although it will be important to check whether the interior layout, opening system or availability differs between versions.
Generous capacity, but not for every kitchen
The FizzFresh’s 524-liter volume places it clearly above a conventional fridge-freezer. That capacity can be useful in a home with several people, for households that freeze large amounts of food or for anyone who prefers to do one large weekly shop. French doors may also make it easier to access wide shelves, serving dishes and large containers that often become awkwardly wedged in narrower refrigerators.
The downside of that extra space is the physical room required. A large refrigerator demands measurements of not only the kitchen opening, but also the delivery route, hallway turns and door clearance. Tall cabinets, nearby walls and kitchen islands can restrict daily use even when the appliance fits by only a few centimeters. In this category, external dimensions and door-opening angles matter as much as the internal liters.
It will also be necessary to confirm how the space is divided between the refrigerator and freezer compartments. A high total figure does not guarantee that every area is equally practical. Drawer width, shelf height, door-bin size and the room occupied by air ducts all shape the real experience. Presentation images show a spacious appliance, but they cannot replace a detailed inspection of its layout.
Sparkling Bar: the feature that sets this refrigerator apart
The most striking element of the FizzFresh is Sparkling Bar, an integrated system that dispenses cold water and adds carbonation inside the refrigerator. Dreame says users can choose three carbonation levels: light, classic and intense. The idea resembles a sparkling-water machine, although it is integrated into the appliance, with the advantage of avoiding another device on the kitchen countertop.
This feature could be convenient for people who drink carbonated water every day and want to avoid storing large numbers of bottles. It also raises practical questions that do not yet have complete answers. It will be necessary to know how the tank is refilled, how long the carbon dioxide cartridge lasts, what replacement cartridges cost and whether the system accepts standard components. Running costs could significantly change the refrigerator’s value if it depends on proprietary consumables.
Hygiene deserves particular attention. Any circuit that stores water inside an appliance needs periodic cleaning, and a carbonation dispenser adds more parts, connections and areas that may collect residue. An attractive design loses some of its appeal if removing the tank is difficult or if the app does not clearly explain maintenance. At this point, ease of cleaning will be decisive in determining whether Sparkling Bar is a daily convenience or an extra that sees little use after the initial novelty fades.
Ice cubes and crushed ice without trays
The IceDUO system completes the drinks proposition by offering both ice cubes and crushed ice. Having both formats directly from the refrigerator can be useful during hot weather, for preparing drinks or entertaining guests without filling the freezer with bags and trays. The separation of functions suggests Dreame has tried to turn the dispensing area into a small drinks station.
Production and storage capacity will be more important than variety, however. A domestic ice maker may take time to replenish its supply after several servings, particularly when the freezer door is opened often. The system’s noise, production speed and the way its containers are removed and washed are also not yet fully known. These details are easy to miss in a presentation but very noticeable in daily life.
Crushed ice also requires durable construction. Blades, channels and the storage bin must withstand temperature changes, moisture and repeated use without clogging. IceDUO should therefore be understood as a differentiating feature that still needs validation, rather than an automatic guarantee of better performance. The durability of the ice module will be one of the most important points in future owner reviews.
FreshFlex and food-preservation technologies
FreshFlex is the FizzFresh’s adjustable-temperature drawer. Its purpose is to let one section adapt to different foods, such as fruit, vegetables, meat, fish or drinks. In theory, this flexibility makes better use of the interior and avoids dedicating one compartment to a single category. It could also work as a rapid-chilling zone when several freshly purchased drinks need to be cooled quickly.
Its usefulness will depend on the accuracy of the settings and thermal stability. Selecting a temperature on a display is not enough if the drawer takes too long to reach it or changes significantly when recently purchased food is added. In a well-designed refrigerator, users should notice more consistent preservation rather than simply finding several modes in a menu. Temperature consistency will matter more than the number of advertised programs.
The range also includes references to HydroGuard Crisper and AeroFresh. The former is intended to keep fruit and vegetables in better condition through improved humidity management, while the latter uses activated-carbon filtration to reduce odors. These solutions may improve coexistence between strongly scented foods, but they do not replace proper organization or regular cleaning. Cheese, onions and fish will still need sealed containers.
The No Frost system prevents manual ice buildup through air circulation and automatic defrosting. It is already common in midrange and premium refrigerators, so it should not be considered exclusive, although it is necessary in a model of this size. The inverter compressor can adjust its speed to demand and reduce temperature fluctuations, but final energy use will also depend on insulation, energy class, room temperature and door-opening habits.
Connectivity: useful when it provides control
The FizzFresh is presented as a connected appliance, with functions that can be managed from a smartphone. Connectivity could make it possible to check temperatures, receive open-door alerts or change selected settings without approaching the appliance. In a large kitchen, this information may be practical, especially if the refrigerator is away from the main work area.
The app’s usefulness will depend on its stability and the duration of software support. A refrigerator can remain in a home for more than a decade, while apps change, operating systems lose compatibility and cloud services may be altered. Basic cooling, ice and dispensing functions should remain available even if the owner never configures the connection. Connected technology should not become a requirement for operating an essential appliance.
Nor should an internet connection be confused with real intelligence. Sensors can improve temperature control and detect problems, but they will not automatically organize a grocery order or extend food life indefinitely. The experience will be positive if the app communicates clearly and avoids false alarms; it will be frustrating if it requires too many permissions, loses its connection or turns simple actions into unnecessary processes.
Price compared with established refrigerators
At an entry price of 1,699 euros, the FizzFresh does not compete with basic fridge-freezers. It targets American-style and French-door models from brands that have sold large appliances in Europe for years. The premium over a conventional appliance is supported, on paper, by its capacity, sparkling-water dispenser, two ice formats, flexible-temperature zone and connectivity.
The comparison should not be limited to the number of features. Warranty terms, service coverage, replacement-parts availability and the price of filters or cartridges also matter. A new product can look very attractive on a specification sheet, but long-term peace of mind depends on quick after-sales support and on avoiding the need to replace complete modules after a minor failure.
Energy efficiency will have an important effect on total ownership cost. A 524-liter appliance needs more electricity than a small refrigerator, although good insulation and an efficient compressor can limit the difference. Buyers should check the European energy label and declared annual consumption, while remembering that real-world use rises in hot kitchens, with frequent door openings or when the appliance is installed too close to a heat source.
The market also includes smaller Dreame refrigerators, such as the Mega Pro, which has appeared in 409- and 456-liter configurations with cooling technologies, a FreshFlex zone and odor filtration. They should not be confused with the FizzFresh: the products share some commercial language and concepts, but the sparkling-water dispenser and dual ice system define the new model. The choice depends on whether those features will really be used or whether space and stable cooling are enough.
What the first available reviews suggest
Early ratings for other Dreame refrigerators highlight a positive impression of capacity, quiet operation and practical interior organization. Some users also praise cooling speed, appearance and the flexible zone. These comments can provide context, but they are not yet a solid review base for the FizzFresh, particularly because they concern different models and a limited number of buyers.
Early criticism of the Mega Pro range shows that perceptions of exterior finish can vary according to expectations. Some users appreciate the modern appearance, while others question the texture and material of the sides. This is a reminder that product photographs usually emphasize the front and may hide details visible when the appliance stands away from the cabinets. Side-panel finish and material quality should be checked in person whenever possible.
For the FizzFresh, the most valuable reviews will arrive after several months of use. Early reviews usually focus on unboxing, installation and first impressions; more useful experiences explain whether the appliance holds temperature, how much noise it makes at night, how long the carbonation lasts, how the water circuit is cleaned and what happens when connectivity fails. A refrigerator cannot be evaluated like a phone: its true behavior appears over time.
Advantages and limitations shown by the specifications
The FizzFresh’s main appeal is the combination of large volume and unusual features. Its 524-liter capacity can meet the needs of a large family, while Sparkling Bar and IceDUO combine tasks that would normally require a carbonation machine, ice maker and extra kitchen space. FreshFlex adds flexibility by adapting part of the interior to different foods.
The French-door design can make it easier to organize wide items and reduce the need to open an entire door to reach a particular area. Even so, the exact layout will be crucial. A very large refrigerator can become inconvenient if lower drawers are too deep or small items disappear behind oversized containers.
The limitations are also clear. The starting price is high, the product has no long history in this category and some features depend on parts that require maintenance. Energy use, noise and technical support remain unknowns. Sparkling water may also be unnecessary for someone who rarely drinks it, meaning that part of the price pays for a feature that not every owner will use.
Connectivity adds convenience, but it should not be the main buying criterion. Stable cooling, effective freezing, solid construction and capable technical support remain priorities. Eye-catching features attract attention; daily reliability decides a purchase. That difference usually becomes clear once the novelty fades and the appliance becomes part of a routine.
Who should consider the FizzFresh?
The model is best suited to homes with a large kitchen, several occupants and frequent consumption of cold drinks. It may also appeal to people who host gatherings, prepare meals in advance or need substantial refrigerator and freezer space without installing two separate appliances. In those cases, the combination of capacity, ice and sparkling water can provide tangible convenience.
In a small home, the decision is less obvious. The exterior size can affect the layout, the doors may intrude into walkways and the price can easily exceed that of simpler refrigerators that perform the essential job. If the owner rarely uses ice or sparkling water, a medium-capacity No Frost model may offer a more balanced relationship between price, energy use and maintenance.
Installation and delivery conditions will also matter. A large appliance may require specialist transportation, removal of the old refrigerator and checks on floors or access routes. These associated costs are not always included in the recommended price. Before comparing offers, buyers should consider the complete package: installation, warranty, consumables, possible filters and repair support.
A cautious first assessment before launch
The Dreame FizzFresh specifications describe an ambitious refrigerator with a clear identity, aimed at people who want more than food storage. Its 524-liter capacity, three carbonation levels, cubed and crushed ice and FreshFlex zone form a coherent package. It does not look like a basic connected refrigerator with unrelated extras added afterward, although it still needs to prove how well these features work together in everyday use.
The current assessment must remain provisional. The 1,699-euro price for the side-by-side version and 1,799 euros for the French-door model place it in a demanding category where support and durability matter as much as innovation. Independent tests will need to confirm noise, energy use, finish quality, water-circuit cleaning and the durability of the ice system.
For now, the FizzFresh is more interesting as a concept than as a product with a proven user history. It could become a convincing option for families who genuinely use its features, but there is no reason to pay more simply for novelty. The final verdict will depend on reliability over months, not on an impressive presentation or a long list of technologies.
Dreame’s move into large appliances expands competition and encourages a broader way of comparing products. A refrigerator is no longer chosen only by liters and price: maintenance, software, consumables and post-sale support also count. On that test, the FizzFresh has strong arguments, but it must show that its special features survive everyday use with the same confidence promised on paper.
